MAELIA: Multi-Agent for Environmental Norms Impact Assessment

The MAELIA project (Responsible Pierre Mazzega) consists in developing and integrating a platform for the simulation of the socio-environmental impacts of norms designing the management and governance of
  • the water resources
  • other renewable natural resources (RNR)
  • the environment.

The involved research teams create a synergy between IA, AI and environmental resource management and governance: IAAI: Impact Assessment & Artificial Intelligence IAAI: Intelligence Artificielle & Analyse d’Impact Partners

The kernel of the MAELIA project is involving four research laboratories and a Water Agency in Toulouse:
  • AGIR (coord. Dr Delphine Leenhardt) is a laboratory studying the agrosystems and the development of territories (INRA, INP, ENSAT)
  • IRIT (coord. Dr Frédéric Amblard) is the Institut for Computer Sciences in Toulouse (Toulouse University, CNRS, INPT);
  • LMTG (coord. Dr Pierre Mazzega) is the Laboratory of the mechanisms and Transfers in Geology (Toulouse University, CNRS, IRD)
  • MSHS-T (coord. Dr Bertrand Jouve) is a federation of laboratories in the domains of the social sciences and humanities (Toulouse University; CNRS).
AEAG, the Adour-Garonne water Agency is also participating in the project.

Sponsors

The MAELIA Project is funded by the “Sciences & Techniques of Aeronautics and Space” foundation STAE in Toulouse - France. The Institute for Complex Sciences “Ile de France” has supported the project is its earliest stage.
